Who We Are

Established in 1990, the European Anti-Poverty Network Ireland is a network of groups and individuals working against poverty. It is the Irish national network of the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN Europe), which aims to put the fight against poverty at the top of the EU, national and local agenda. EAPN Ireland is a small but dynamic advocate for social and political progress in Ireland and in the European Union.

What We Do

  • Empower members to understand and influence European Union policy and its implementation in Ireland through information and training.
  • Work to put the eradication of poverty at the top of the EU and Irish agenda through policy development and advocacy.
  • Engage with and feed into the EU Social Strategy and the National Action Plans (NAPs Inclusion), The EU Employment Strategy and the Employment Action Plan, The EU Structural Funds Programme, The Enlargement of the EU and the debate on the future of Europe.
  • Promote networking and the sharing of best practice between anti-poverty organisations across the EU.
  • Research, compile and disseminate information for our members, policymakers, the general public and other stakeholders.
  • Raise awareness about the social aspects of the European Union model.
